A New Job, A New City
I’m really excited to share that I have accepted a new job. In October, I will start my new position as a Photographer/Designer at the University of California, San Diego. It’s an opportunity to do something I’m passionate about in one of the most beautiful settings imaginable. San Diego is a city I’ve loved since childhood. My grandparents would load me into the backseat, a box of tissue beside me, and brave the 3 hour drive. We’d visit the museums of Balboa Park, the mission, old town and just about anything else they could think of that would expose me to the vast amount of culture waiting beyond my front door. Later on, my parents fell in love with the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park. San Diego holds a lot of happy memories for me and I’m really grateful to have the opportunity to make more. Michaela and I are presently (and feverishly) hunting for a place down there. I imagine once we get settled in, we’ll be sharing many of the discoveries we make. Thank you so much to everyone who sent prayers my way! Please send more for finding a place!
A Seat at Trader Sam’s Tiki Bar
A seat at Trader Sam’s is not always an easy thing to find but it’s well worth the pursuit. Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar is the most immersive atmosphere to be found outside the berm at the Disneyland Resort. In many ways, it rivals what’s inside. The quality is the same—if not better—and the shear density of props leaves far more to discover than a single adventure could allow. I imagine that’s why Shrunken Ned highly recommends multiple excursions to Trader Sam’s to treat a variety of ailments. Personally, I’ve never needed any additional coaxing. I can usually hear a Shipwreck on the Rocks beckoning to me from anywhere in Downtown Disney.
