Welcome to our Disneyland Resort photography website, you lucky people you. We’re here with a new picture everyday, for you to come and view. We like to be seen and we love to be shared with your friends! So make sure to invite them to come along and celebrate the magic of Disneyland with us. We’ll keep the celebrating beneath “the gods have been angered” level. Maybe… Aloha!
The World Famous Jungle Queue
Sometimes I wish I could just hang out in The World Famous Jungle Cruise queue all day. I picture sitting in a chair upstairs, sipping tea and spinning a globe which would be stopped arbitrarily by my finger, marking the destination for some future excursion. All of this while listening to the likes of Glen Miller, Duke Ellington and the ambient sounds of Adventureland.
Venture into Adventureland
The middle of the day is considered to be a bad time of day for photography because of something called “harsh light.” While I agree with that to an extent, I am of the opinion that most of these types of rules are made to be broken. I personally think that midday is one of the best times in Adventureland. With the dense, tall foliage, it seems that when the sun is highest in the sky is when the lighting there is the most interesting and dynamic. Many rules, especially artistic ones, are there to help steer us down a time tested path of success. But many rules, especially artistic ones, are more like the Pirate’s Code; they’re more like “guidelines” than actual rules. Don’t let “guidelines” repress your own artistic vision and endeavors. Venture on!
Tropical Imports
Sometimes you just really need a banana. If that’s the case, this would be a great place to get one. Not only because a fresh produce stand resides underneath this sign, but because this is Adventureland and bananas just feel more authentic here.
This shot was a result of one of those times when you’re just strolling through the park and something that you see stops you in your tracks. I love the way Adventureland looks this time of day, when the sun is still high enough that its light wanders through the leaves but can’t quite reach the ground.
Don’t Lose Your Head
This is Shrunken Ned, the jungle’s only self-service witch doctor. He is one of the coolest hidden treasures of Adventureland. You may well have seen him in one of your own adventures through the South Sea Traders shop, but you may well have missed him too. He kind of just hangs around, waiting to be patronized. I highly suggest paying him a visit, as the entertainment you’ll get is really a bargain. I got all manner of strange looks from the other folks in the store when I was pressed up to the glass with my lens. I’m not sure they’d noticed Ned before they noticed me getting this head shot. Make sure to heed his advice, as your party will be sure to get a good laugh at your expense.
