The Matterhorn Bobsleds have been around for a while, but they are still one of the best rides around. There are so many facets to this mountain that make it the “E” Ticket attraction that it is. My favorite part of the Matterhorn is charging past the waterfalls. I know they are coming but I always find them catching me by surprise.
The Matterhorn at Sunset
The Matterhorn is my first memory of Disneyland. Even before parking or setting foot on Disney pavement, looking for the mountain peak that contrasts so sharply the Anaheim skyline marked the beginning of a magical day for making memories. I find myself still searching for that peak when we get close to the park. And when my eyes catch sight of it, it feels strangely familiar to coming home. As with many things, one of the very best times to see it is when the sun’s concluding rays kiss it ever so gently goodnight.
The Castle Drawbridge
Sleeping Beauty Castle is pretty well centered in Disneyland for a reason. It’s a showpiece. At night, the vibrant colors pop with the help of some Disney magic in lighting. It truly takes you away to another place, a place of fantasy. Even though you have to walk by it or through it to get just about anywhere in the park, it never seems to lose its enchantment. The smooth surface of the water reflecting the castle in its grandeur is my favorite part, and on the night I took this picture, I was particularly drawn to the bridge.
